Terms of Service

      The short version: JobInstant is a free tool that scores job postings against your resume and suggests rewrites. Everything it writes is a suggestion — you are the author of your resume and you are responsible for making sure it is true before you send it to an employer.
    

1. Agreement

By installing the JobInstant Chrome extension or using jobinstantai.com (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service. How we handle your data is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. What the Service does

JobInstant compares a resume you provide against job postings you are viewing on supported job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Built In), returns a match score with reasoning, and can suggest a rewrite of your resume tailored to one posting. The Service is provided free of charge.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are using the Service somewhere that sets a higher minimum age for online services, you must meet that age instead. There are no accounts, so you are responsible for the device on which you install the extension.

4. Your resume, and who owns what

You keep ownership of your resume. Uploading it grants us only the limited permission needed to process it and return a result to you, for that request. We claim no ownership of your content and do not use it to train models.
You own the output you keep. Suggested rewrites are yours to use, edit, or discard.
We own the Service itself — the extension, the website, and the underlying software. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute it.
You confirm you have the right to submit the resume content you upload.

5. AI-generated suggestions — read this one

Scores, explanations, and rewrites are produced by an AI model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. They are suggestions, not advice, and not statements of fact about you.

Before you send anything to an employer, you must read every change and confirm it is true of you. Do not submit a claim about your experience, skills, employment dates, or qualifications that you cannot stand behind. Misrepresenting yourself to an employer is your responsibility alone, and the consequences of doing so rest with you.

JobInstant does not guarantee an interview, a callback, a job offer, or that any resume will pass any employer's applicant tracking system. A match score is an estimate, not a prediction.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to break the law, or to deceive an employer about who you are.
Attempt to bypass usage limits, or send automated or bulk requests to our API.
Reverse engineer, resell, or build a competing service on top of our API.
Upload content that is not yours, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Interfere with the Service, or with any job board's terms of use.

We may limit or block access that we reasonably believe breaks these rules.

7. Fair use limits

The Service is free and runs on paid infrastructure, so daily usage limits apply per installation. Limits may change without notice to keep the Service available to everyone. Reaching a limit is not a fault or a loss of your data.

8. Third parties

JobInstant is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn, Indeed, Built In, Google, or Anthropic, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners. Your use of any job board remains governed by that job board's own terms. The Service depends on third-party providers, and their availability is outside our control.

9. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, at any time, without notice. Because your resume is stored on your own device, discontinuation does not delete your data — uninstalling the extension does.

10. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobInstant and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost opportunity, lost employment, lost earnings, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to zero United States dollars (US$0).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to hold JobInstant harmless from claims arising out of content you submitted, resumes you sent to employers, or your breach of these terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension, which also deletes your locally stored data. We may suspend access for a breach of these terms. Sections 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
