1. Overview
JobInstant (also listed as “EdAIX” on the Chrome Web Store) is a Chrome extension that analyzes job descriptions and compares them with a user-provided resume to generate match scores and improvement suggestions.
We are committed to protecting user privacy and collecting only the minimum data necessary to provide the core functionality of the extension.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Resume Information (User-Provided)
Users may upload a resume to the extension. This may include personally identifiable information such as name, email address, phone number, or work history.
This information is:
- Stored locally in the user's Chrome browser using Chrome Storage
- Sent to our analysis API only when the user actively triggers a job match request
- Not stored on external servers after a request is complete
2.2 Job Description Content
When the user visits a job listing page and activates the extension, JobInstant reads the visible job description text on that page to generate match analysis.
The extension does not access:
- Private messages or account credentials
- Hidden or non-visible page data
- Any content on other websites or tabs
2.3 Data We Do Not Collect
JobInstant does not collect:
- Browsing history or web activity
- Location data
- Authentication credentials or passwords
- Payment or financial information
- Health information
- Any data in the background without user action
3. How Data Is Used
Data collected by JobInstant is used solely to:
- Generate resume-to-job match scores
- Provide gap analysis and improvement suggestions
- Enable resume rewrite features
Data is never used for advertising, behavioral tracking, or any purpose unrelated to these features.
4. Data Transmission
When the user triggers an analysis, resume text and job description content are sent to our API to generate match results. This data is used solely for that request and is not retained after the request is complete.
Analysis requests are processed via third-party API infrastructure (including Cloudflare Workers). Data transmitted is used solely to generate results and is subject to the data processing terms of those services.
We do not:
- Sell user data to any third party
- Share data with advertisers
- Use data for behavioral profiling
- Retain data beyond the duration of a single request
5. Data Storage
- Resume data is stored locally in the user's Chrome browser
- Analysis results may be temporarily cached locally to improve performance
- We do not store resume content or job description content on external servers
6. Data Security
We use secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission. We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect user information during transit and local storage.
7. User Control
Users can:
- Edit or delete their stored resume at any time via the extension settings
- Clear locally cached data by uninstalling the extension
- Revoke extension permissions at any time through Chrome settings
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
