Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026 · Applies to the JobInstant Chrome extension, jobinstantai.com, and our analysis API
The short version: your resume lives on your own device. When you score a job or tailor your resume, the text needed for that one analysis is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, returned, and not kept. No account, no sale of data, no advertising, no behavioral tracking.
What JobInstant does
JobInstant has one purpose: to help a job seeker evaluate and improve their resume against a specific job posting. Every feature serves that single flow — reading the posting you have open, comparing it to the resume you provided, and returning a match score with suggested resume improvements.
What we process, and where it lives
- Your resume. Uploaded by you, parsed in your browser, and stored only in the extension's local storage on your device (
chrome.storage.local). It typically contains personal details such as your name and contact information. We do not keep a copy on our servers.
- Job posting text. The text of the posting you are viewing on a supported job board (LinkedIn, Indeed, Built In), used only to compare against your resume.
- Transient analysis requests. When you request a score or a rewrite, the resume text and job text are transmitted over HTTPS to our API (a Cloudflare Worker), forwarded to an AI model for the analysis, and the result is returned to you. These request contents are not retained, sold, or used to train models by us.
- A random install identifier. The extension generates a random ID on install, used solely to enforce fair daily usage limits. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and no account exists.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no passwords.
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties for their purposes.
- No advertising and no advertising trackers in the extension.
- No behavioral profiling; the extension reads only supported job-board pages, and only the posting content on them.
Data retention and deletion
Everything durable lives on your device. Removing the extension (or clearing its storage from chrome://extensions) deletes your resume and all scores immediately and completely. Server-side, analysis requests are processed transiently; rate-limit counters keyed by the random install ID expire automatically within about 25 hours.
Third-party services
Analysis runs on our API hosted by Cloudflare and uses Anthropic's Claude models under their commercial terms, which do not permit training on our API data. The website uses Google Analytics on marketing pages only (never inside the extension) to count visits.
Changes and contact
If our practices change (for example if optional accounts are ever introduced), this policy will be updated first, with the date above. Questions or requests: jobinstant.help@gmail.com.
